Game templates

A game template defines the compute resources that your deployment needs. You must specify a game template in your launch configuration file before you can start a deployment.

To work out which game template you need to use, choose the statement below that applies to you, and then look at the relevant table.

Table A

Use one of the following templates if you’re working with the GDK for Unreal 0.10 or later with the Standard Runtime variant.

The template you use depends on your cloud provider and worker node. For more information, see the pricing documentation for on-demand public cloud.

Cloud provider Worker node Networking service type: action1g1
Game template
GCP n1-standard-1 n1standard1_std40_action1g1
n1-standard-2 n1standard2_std40_action1g1
n1-standard-4 n1standard4_std40_action1g1
n2-standard-2 n2standard2_std40_action1g1

Table B

Use one of the templates below if you’re working with version 14.5.4 or later of the SpatialOS Runtime, AND if one of the following statements applies to you:

  • You’re using the GDK for Unreal 0.10 or later with the Compatibility Mode Runtime variant
  • You’re using the GDK for Unreal 0.9 or earlier
  • You aren’t using the GDK for Unreal

The template you use depends on your cloud provider, worker node, and networking service type. For more information, see the pricing documentation for on-demand public cloud and networking services.

Table C

Use one of the templates below if you’re working with a SpatialOS Runtime version that’s earlier than 14.5.4.

The template you use depends on your cloud provider, worker node, and networking service type. For more information, see the pricing documentation for on-demand public cloud and networking services.

The game templates below are the same as those from our previous pricing model, which included an egress allowance. You need to specify one of these game templates to start a deployment with older Runtime versions, but you won’t pay for any egress that you don’t use.
